War Machine, also known as James "Rhodey" Rhodes, is a powerful superhero from the Marvel Universe, first appearing in the Marvel Comics series "Iron Man" in 1979. He is a skilled pilot and soldier, and is one of the most respected and admired heroes in the Marvel Universe.
War Machine's story begins with James Rhodes, a close friend and confidant of Tony Stark, also known as Iron Man. After serving in the military for many years, Rhodes becomes the head of security for Stark Industries, and becomes one of Tony's most trusted allies.
However, when Tony's life is threatened by a number of powerful villains, Rhodes decides to take matters into his own hands. Using his military training and expertise, he builds a suit of armor similar to Iron Man's, and becomes War Machine.
